A man has been charged after a stabbing in the lower northern beaches area on New Year’s Day.
Emergency services were called to Tor Road at Dee Why about 12.30pm on Friday when they found two men, aged 22 and 23, suffering stab wounds.
The older man suffered injuries to his face, hands and legs and was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
The younger man, who suffered non-life threatening injuries, was taken to Manly Police Station where he was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
Police will allege in court the pair became involved in an argument before the 22-year-old stabbed the other man multiple times.
Dee Why is part of Northern Beaches Local Government Area where residents have been directed to stay home except for specific purposes including shopping and exercise in light of a number of coronavirus cases uncovered in December.
Police inquiries into the incident are continuing.
